Heard on the radio:

“If you don’t never try, you don’t never learn.”

Huh?

AllOfMP3.com

Ok, so in the past week I’ve bought, lets see, a total of four CDs – legally.

The grand total is – $2.80

AllOfMP3.com

I found this site, and needless to say, I was sceptical. So, I used my MBNA Credit Card and generated a temporary number with a credit limit of $10 and added $5 to my account with them.

Then, I cautiously bought the Switchfoot alubum. You pay for bandwidth. You can choose your encoding type, WMA, MP3, OGG, etc. and the quality 128, 196, and 384. They encode them on the fly and you can download the music.

Works like a charm.

It’s a Russian website with contracts with full Russian legal rights.

I have music, and I’ve paid for it.

This rocks.

Complete the analogy

Extreme women’s lib.ers (femanazis) are to blank as women are to men.

Also think, if you forcefully remove children from homes by the age of 6 what do the housewives do?
Reciprically, if the housewives want to get out of the house, what do you do with the kids?

Hmmmm …..

Where in the world do black people buy those incredibly long undershirts that reach down to their knees??

I want to know.

BTW, the title of the previous stands for “food for thought” not “fast fourier transform”

The Underground History of American Education

http://www.johntaylorgatto.com/bookstore/index.htm

Excerpts:

Law courts and legislatures have totally absolved school people from liability. You can sue a doctor for malpractice, not a schoolteacher. Every homebuilder is accountable to a customers years after the home is built; not schoolteachers, though. You can’t sue a priest, minister, or rabbi either, that should be a clue.
- Prologue pg. xxiv

============

In 30 years of teaching kids rich and poor I almost never met a learning disabled child; hardly ever met a gifted and talented one either. Like all school categories, these are sacred myths, created by human imagination. They derive from questionable values we never examine because they preserve the temple of schooling.
- Prologue pg. xxvi

============

In my first years of teaching I was told over and over that humiliation was my best friend, more effective than whipping. I witnessed this theory in practice through my time as a teacher. If you were to ask me now whether physical or psychologoical violence does more damage I would reply that slurs, aspersion, formal ranking, insult, and inference are far and way the more deadly. Nor does law protect the tongue-lashed.
- Chapter 1 pg. 6

Oh my goodness. Austin, I finished Undine

I just want to burst out in tears right now …

What a fool Huldbrand was.

“Oh, if it indeed were so,” sighed Huldbrand, “and that I might die by a kiss from you!”

Undine – not for the faint-of-heart.
