Freedom

Wow, this post is quite a bit over due. The mains news in my life as of late is …. I’m finally out of high school!. Yes folks, belive it or not, William Cox has finally graduated from high school … a home school high school at that! Yes, after 13 years of being taught by my parents (well … I taught a lot of it to myself) I’m finally free! Well, for a little while. Soon I’m off to North Carolina State University to get an Electrical Engineering degree in the fall. After that I hope to start an amateur robotics company. w00t! I’m so excited. Of course, if you intended to send me some money, but forgot, you can always PayPal or send me a check :) Check the contact information (link at left) for more info. Graduation is helping to fund my latest toy … a new Digital Camera! It’s a Pentax Optio 230, 2 megapixel camera. It’s got some nifty features including the little swing out screen, movies, and a spectroscopic picture taking mode (it takes two pictures then you can see them in 3D). It’s also quite small. That was a major plus. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that you can’t manually adjust the shutter speed. So, if you want to take a picture at the full 1/1500 shutter speed, the camera basically has to be directly pointed into the blazing hot inferno of the sun at midday. Oh well. I still like it. I’m hoping to get the pictures I took at my graduation online sometime soon. But, 13 mb of photos is a lot to upload via FTP on a 56k modem. In other news, I’m running a brand new show this summer based on the book of Esther (you know, from the Bible). It’s completely different from any of the other shows that I’ve done, in that it’s a pop-opera (like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat) … yes, all music. What fun. After my 2nd recasting, I’ll be playing the character of Mordecai, Esther’s father-like cousin, who exposes the plot to assinate the king. It’s going to be great.
